The difference between Night & Day August 6, 2020
We broke camp from the city this morning at 8 am and hit the road for parts less civilized. We had been advised by one of my friends that there was a good campsite located in the Payette National Forest in Bear, ID. So we headed that way. Beautiful country this western side of Idaho. Rolling hills and lush, green farmland. We marveled at the many rivers in this part of the state – who knew?
We reached Bear and the Huckleberry campground much sooner and with much less difficulty than we anticipated. BUT, we drove past it. There really didn’t appear to be any viable way to get out of the wrong place other than backing up ¼ mile. So we did it! Later we found out that there was a really sweet camping site on the little Bear Creek just a little further than we had traveled. So typical. After spending about 45 minutes backing down the one lane dirt road to the USFS campground, we could have been someplace prettier and free!! Oh well, there must be a reason we are here, paying a mere $5 per night for a beautiful spot. Tell me what you think. Isn’t this better than the picture I couldn’t get last night because it was so freaking hot in Boise?
Here is a picture of the sky that I was able to see from my Yoga mat while doing my leg lifts. Kinda nice, huh?
A beautiful creek that Ceilidh can’t get enough of.
Tomorrow my friend and her husband are coming up from Indian Valley to pick huckleberries with us. Looking forward to seeing her and whatever a huckleberry looks like.
