Still Stuck but what the Yuck! August 3, 2020
Well let's see. This morning I got call backs from two of the guys who showed up on the internet proclaiming to be auto mechanics. The first guy Elias Manzo said he would be happy to help us. I told Elias that Russ was, in fact on his way over there since he was the closest. While I was out walking the doggie, the other fella called -- Steve. He said that he was about 2 weeks out but if we couldn't find anyone else to help us, he would try to squeeze us in. His concern, like mine, was the availability of the part that we would need.
Russ returned from Manzo's Garage with the news confirming that we need a new condenser for the truck and amazingly, there was not a condenser to be had in Winnemuca. After a pow wow with Russ, he called a chevy dealer (notice no capital anymore for this truck grrrrr) in Elko and low and behold, they had the part we needed ($505). Before purchasing the part, Russ called Manzo's and inquired as to wether he would be able to install the part if we travelled to Elko to retrieve it. the answer was yes. Elko chevy said that they would be able to do the work tomorrow if we left the truck there all day.
The part is now in Winnemuca, we are $505 lighter and Russ is over at Manzo's hopefully getting the thing installed.
Keep you posted.
In the meantime, I took Ceilidh for an early morning walk and made it back in time to attend my online zoom workout class. Then I hit the pool. So much for a problem day, huh?
Here's me, Hi from the pool!!
Hoping to be back on the road tomorrow. In a much cooler space.
So love the adventure!
