Lunch with a Dear Friend. Coeur d'Alene August 14, 2020
After a really noisy night in an expensive campground we got lucky and the space in the forest service camp opened up!! Good thing because the office at the campground said that there was "no room at the inn," for tonight. We were so lucky because we got the first come, first serve spot and we can stay here for as long as we want (up to 14 days) for $11.50 a night. So here is our campsite. There are only 19 of them and it is so quiet!
After dumping the tanks and moving the rig, we made arrangements to meet Jim Willingham, his son Matt Willingham and Crystal (Matt's girlfriend) in town for lunch. It was a great visit. I am so sorry that I didn't take any photos. I can't remember when I saw Jim last. He is still a handsome dude!!
Back to the campsite and a bit of a walk up the hill where I shot a couple of photos of the flowers. Check them out:
Kinda artsy fartsy, huh? My camera/phone is awesome.
So tomorrow we are going to head up to Sandpoint. Getting a campsite is so sketchy right now, so we will make the 100 mile round trip to visit a couple of old friends.
The Idahoans complain because the Washingtonians keep coming over here to camp because, apparently, it is still verboten to camp in Washington. Consequently spaces are few and far between. This is a total tourist area, and it is being overwhelmed by out-of-towners who need to recreate. Sound familiar Tahoe?
It is so quiet here ......... you could practically hear a pin drop.
