Goodbye Washington -- for now. August 13, 2020

This morning I got a run in finally and a walk with my puppy afterward.  The lower altitude meant that it wasn't my heart rate and lungs that limited me but my knees and feet.  It was good.  Here is a picture taken along the way.

Afterward Gracia cooked us a wonderful breakfast.  The best pancakes ever with none other than the famed and precious huckleberries!  Thank you Gracia and Cub for your totally awesome hospitality.  We hope to see you on our way back home.  Here is a picture of their beautiful family.

Everyone of the people in this picture are members of the Spokane Tribe (Gracia married into it) and everyone of these people are hardworking and productive members of the tribe and citizens of the USA.  Some of them have children and spouses who are in the active military.  God Bless America!  Thank you Peone family.

We left Ford, WA this morning about 10 am and set out for a USFS campground in Couer d'Alene.  The campground we wanted was full so we ended up in an expensive ($42) spot and hope to score tomorrow.  Took a little ride and checked out the surroundings.  Lots of people -- kinda hard to take after the last 3 days.  The lake here is beautiful though, just too many people . . .

Tomorrow I get to have lunch with Jim Willingham who is a friend from Truckee and I am really looking forward to seeing him and his son Matt.
